As 2023 comes to a close, Thomas Flavell & Sons is proud to reflect on a year filled with purposeful giving and community engagement. Our commitment to supporting various causes has resulted in an array of successful initiatives that not only raised significant funds but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility among our team members. From local businesses joining forces to creative fundraising events, our efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

The Friendship Project Events:

One of the highlights of our philanthropic endeavours was the Friendship Project, where local businesses, including the Cakery Leamington (https://thecakeryleamington.co.uk/) and Il Piccolinos Warwick (https://ilpiccolinos.co.uk/) enthusiastically participated in the Smartie Challenge. This delightful initiative showcased the power of collaboration within our community, emphasising that small gestures can lead to big impacts. Additionally, our team embraced the nostalgia of youth with a 'Dress as your Teenage Self' day, company dress down days, a Pumpkin Carving competition, and our spirited involvement in the Leamington Round Table Santa Sleigh event. In December, our team attended the Friendship Project's Christmas Party where we donated gifts to all children, and the TFS festivities brought joy and generosity in the offices, raising a heart-warming total throughout the year of £595.53.

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People events:

Our dedication to making a difference extended to supporting Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. The 'Lunch and Learn' session brought the inspiring stories of the Rainbows team and a parent directly to our offices, creating a powerful connection between our team and the cause. Our Practice Manager's surprise appearance as 'Bow Bear' added a touch of whimsy, further showcasing our commitment to this worthy cause. The 'It's a Knockout Challenge' provided a platform for our team members to engage in friendly competition with organisations across Leicestershire. Various dress down days, a Pumpkin Carving competition, and December's TFS festivities contributed to an outstanding total of £1957.00 raised for Rainbows.

Community Outreach and December Giving:

In December, we extended our support to local initiatives by participating in reverse advent calendars, collecting food for Hinckley Foodbank and LWS Night Shelter. This act of kindness resonated with the true spirit of the season, demonstrating our firm's dedication to making a positive impact on the community we call home.

Our commitment to giving back remains unwavering, and we are grateful for the support of our team members, local businesses, and the community at large. In the spirit of gratitude and goodwill, we look forward to continuing our philanthropic efforts in the coming year, ensuring that our firm remains a beacon of positive change and community support.
